Panda Express to open first Rexburg restaurant

Panda Express will launch its new Rexburg location, at 1490 N 2nd E, at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

To commemorate the new location, the restaurant will give 20 percent of its launch-day proceeds to the Grand Teton Council Boy Scouts, a Panda Express news release said.

“We’re thrilled to begin serving the area of Rexburg and becoming an integral part of the community,” said Roberto Esparza, Panda Express’ area coach of operation, in a restaurant news release.

The restaurant will provide more than 25 jobs, the release said. For information about job opportunities, go to pandacareers.com.

Rexburg’s Panda Express location will offer dine-in services from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Air Methods and Blue Cross of Idaho

finalize in-network agreement

Air Methods, a provider of emergency air medical services, announced last week that it has reached an agreement with Blue Cross of Idaho, allowing its members to access emergency air medical services.

The new agreement allows Blue Cross of Idaho members access to Air Methods’ emergency air medical services in Idaho. Air Methods is Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center’s medical air transportation partner.

“No matter where our members live … they need access to quality care at the right time,” said Todd York, director of provider network management for Blue Cross of Idaho, in a news release. “Finding that care, especially for our members living in rural or remote areas of Idaho, can be a challenge. That’s why we’re pleased to add Air Methods to our list of in-network providers.”

Air Methods has more than 300 bases of operation serving 48 states that operate around-the-clock, 365 days per year. It has provided more than 2.5 million patient transports since 1980.

SCORE to host business workshop

SCORE will be holding a free Business Essentials Workshop from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Idaho Innovation Center, 2300 N. Yellowstone Highway, Idaho Falls. Lunch will be provided.

Workshop topics include writing a business plan, financing options, social media, business law, bookkeeping and marketing, a SCORE news release said.

The workshop is open to anyone starting a business or interested in starting a business as well as anyone currently in business. Register by calling 208-523-1022.

SCORE offers free small business advice and mentoring, call 208-523-1022 to set up an appointment.

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. It is supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Alpha Kappa Psi seeks Business

Leader of the Year nominees

Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional student organization at Idaho State University, seeks nominations for its annual Idaho Business Leader of the Year award.

The recipient will be chosen based on the following qualifications:

• Work for an Idaho based company or organization.

• Be an influential leader within their company or organization.

• Be an influential leader in their community and be active in community service.

• Be a supporter of business education.

• Demonstrate by example the use of ethics in business.

• Demonstrate by example the core values of Alpha Kappa Psi: brotherhood, integrity, service, knowledge and unity.

Past recipients of the award are ineligible.

Nominations can be submitted at isu.edu/cob/ibloy.shtml or by email to akpsideltau@gmail.com. Include the candidate’s name, qualifications for the award, some background about the organization if relevant, and your own contact information. Submissions will be accepted until Oct. 13.

The award will be presented at a March 15 banquet.
